Utah CCW Big Mistake to Avoid!
It's really pretty hard to believe, but there are still a bunch of folks who are failing to insure that their carry-on bags DO NOT contain any weapons. You'd think that in the past 10 years since 9/11, that everyone would have learned what not to do at airport security checkpoints...
The Salt Lake International Airport reports that in 2010, there were 22 people arrested for having a firearm, and 35 others for attempting to carry some other type of weapon through security.
As of Nov. 11, 2011, TSA reports that they confiscated an average of 2 loaded guns per month (24 so far this year, & 5 in October). This exceeds the amount in any other airport in the U.S. What's going on here? Even a high-profile local attorney was arrested recently on this charge...
A Utah Concealed Weapons Permit holder convicted of this crime can expect to loose his Utah Concealed Firearm Permit, possibly serve jail time, and pay fines up to $10,000.
